Snake in 2008

Chinese New Year is around the corner..Most shopping complex are flooding with mandarin :-D..Things I miss the most! Well, I bought a box of mandarin almost every week..surprisingly, the price keep increasing every week hehehe...Thank God, I have few Chinese students so they give me some mandarin as well. enough for my desert..

I look forward for holiday since Chinese new year holiday overlap with mid term break..I have no plan so far, but I'm thinking of going somewhere for retail therapy-if I have extra money :-D

Got this from one of the blog
After several challenging years, I hope this year will be slightly 'easy' for me...I hope snake won't have serious problem this year since SNAKE can eat RAT...hahahaha...I wish...just a joke, nothing serious....

Snakes` Characteristics:
You are highly intelligent and wise. You score better on EQ & IQ than others. A strategist who is logical in thinking, you hide from limelight, rather to be controlling from the side. You seldom make a move without careful calculation. Once decided, you strike mercilessly and accurately until the goal is attained. Yet you are quick to be flexible. You can `scheme` to have people working together for you and still be called a nice guy!

Snakes` 2008 Luck:
If you have learnt to weather the mix blessing of last year, you will have little problem bearing with the occasional turbulence of this year. You will still face occasional man made troubles but nothing fatal. Your wisdom is your best weapon, so use it. But that does not mean you must always second guess people’s intention. Have your eyes wide open when you are thinking. Don’t walk into a pot hole; literally For those working be extra vigilant and alert and don’t leave valuables unattended. For technical people adopt your workplace safety diligently. That only day you did not wear your helmet might be the only day the only brick falls.

With the Theft Star around you, one should be more concerned is personal safety and security. Heighten the protection measures around you and avoid unnecessary trips. Avoid being showy and be more vigilant about your personal security especially if you are worth a million or more. Same goes to those working who got salary increment and promotion last year. Keep a lower profile and avoid unnecessary engagement. Don’t fight a thief who has a knife when you have less than $20 in your wallet. Very news worthy you know?

Not much lottery luck this year. Save the money.

Married couples should try to spend more times together. Stop hissing your spouse lest you like don’t mind a competitor. Plan to have a kid to arrive next year; i.e. get pregnant after March. As for those seeking, romance luck is with you and the chance of getting hitched may be higher this year. Don’t show your potential partner your love for money before the marriage.

For the adrenaline rushing youth, you better take heed and stop some of those dangerous activities and sports , at least for this year. Do not join gang and if sadly you do and one day get caught in a gang fight and the policeman points a gun and shout at you, “ put down your weapon,” please put down your weapon.

Similarly, for the elderly watch your own safety and security. Please remember to lock the door and turn off the stove before you knock off. If a thief still manage to enter your house, sleep through it.

What my name Means

Got this link from Syaf's blog

What Khairunisak Means

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don't spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you're snobby or aloof, but you're just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.(nothing new to me :-))

You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out.
Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia.
Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic "Type A" personality.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. (I admit this...hehehehe)
You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are a very lucky person. Things just always seem to go your way.
And because you're so lucky, you don't really have a lot of worries. You just hope for the best in life.
You're sometimes a little guilty of being greedy. Spread your luck around a little to people who need it.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do.

what a hectic week...

This week seems sooo long for me..My bro was admitted to hospital since last Sunday..Thank God he was released today after 5 nights in hospital..his warden drove him to nearby clinic due to high fever. That clinic referred him to the hospital..

Last Sunday as well my colleague passed away due to heart attack while playing football..Imagine you just spoke a person on Friday, and received the sms on Sunday that he's passed away...it's a great loss to our school and USM as a whole since he's a well known person in metal area.

This week also, my final year students gave presentation about their progress..Me and my other friends treated their presentation like viva :-D..Quite good though for them to get prepared for final viva..I'm very sure those senior staff will 'bombard' our students/ projects...also, it's good to have others to vet our research so that we can see discrepancies here and there...next few weeks we are going to do the same activities for my friends students...we believe that well guided FYP projects are publishable NOT for rubbish bin...don't know if next year students will choose me as their supervisor or not since words spread very fast here...I'm not a killer supervisor but I'm just doing my job..It's easy to teach, but it's hard to educate..

ok, need to get back to exam question...need to submit by end of this week together with answer....

the stupidest interview...

Last week, Secretary General (Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad) openly said MB Perlis should be changed. At that time, I was quite agreed with him since Shahidan has been MB more than 10 years already. However, when I read his interview with NST I think this guy is the stupidest UMNO guy after SIL...:-)

Q: Your open criticism of the MB could be interpreted as you having ambitions in the state?

A:
Oh, no! I know that some people think I want to be Perlis MB.
I am Umno secretary-general and I am also a full minister. It is different if you are talking about states like Selangor. This is Perlis, a small state of 250,000 people.

Having said that, if the prime minister wants me to go back I will, but if you ask me personally, I do not want to. The thought has never crossed my mind.

Q: It is obvious that you feel that Shahidan should be out. Who would you want to be the replacement?

A:
(Datuk Seri) Azmi Khalid. He's got a young wife.

Q: What has that got to do with anything?

A:
She can promote Perlis well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's that got to do with with young wife??? Is he suggesting that all MB or minister should marry young women?? or beautiful women? The 'fat' lady still in power in ministry of defense...the other 'old' lady is still trying hard to wake up sleeping beauty...hehehehe...What the hell Normala can do to boost Perlis economy?...

I still remember

Common sense vs doesn't make sense...

Speak about common sense, we always think everybody has common sense...surprisingly, to some people it doesn't make sense at all :-))

For example, he my school we use moodle for lecture notes, assignments etc. In order to use this site, students must register first. In moodle page, everybody can upload their photo so that lecturers know their face (especially if they are in 'wanted list')..Although everybody knows they MUST use close up photo e.g passport size photo. However, some extra-creative students put their cat picture, dog, cartoon, artist etc...don't know if I actually lost my sense of humor, or they don't even have common sense...hahahaha...

For New year last week, as usual we always talk about new year resolution. As usual, lots of nonsense resolution :-) Mine was try to lose weight...hahahaha do you think I can achieve it if I still live with my mom? My mom always try to sabotage my diet after all hehehe..I think I really have to live separately before my size become out of control...A friend of mine said she had the same resolution for years already..I think she's gaining weight year by year instead hahahaha...so, this resolution seems doesn't make sense after all...

Touch a bit about 'hot' politics-Dr Chua resignation...In my observation, there's something wrong with his case. First of all I heard in news he has to resign because his action was not aligned with Islam Had-hari...what the hell was that? I guess Mr 'sleeping beauty' ask him to resign without realizing that he is a non-muslim. Is he going to tell us in Islam Had-hari, non-Muslim also have to follow Islamic law? So, why are we afraid of PAS?? Or is this a 'sign' to other politician "look, even non-muslim have to resign, you better watch your kelambu"...make sense??
